What is a trademark
A trademark is the distinctive sign that identifies a product or service, making it possible to distinguish it from the competitors’ ones, and is, therefore, a decisive factor in establishing its value. The creation of a trademark combines creativity and technical evaluation in order to create a new, distinctive sign, able to add value to the products and services with which it is associated, without interfering with other possible trademarks (distinctive signs) that already exist.
Why register a trademark
Registering a trademark ensures the exclusive right to use it and makes it possible to prevent third parties from using it to identify an identical or similar product or service.
The registered trademark is an effective tool that supports marketing and communication activities, protects against counterfeiting, creates business opportunities and helps yield results from investment in research and development of the product or service identified by the trademark.

We operate directly at the Italian Patent and Trademark Office (UIBM), the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) in Alicante and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva with regard to cases concerning, respectively, Italian, European Union and International trademarks (Madrid Protocol/Agreement).
